My Background and Training

I am a Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist, registered with the British Psychotherapy Foundation and British Psychoanalytic Council.  I am also an accredited therapist with the BACP.

I trained at the British Psychotherapy Foundation, a highly regarded psychoanalytic psychotherapy institution. Prior to that, I completed an MSc in Psychodynamic Counselling and Psychotherapy, through the well established programme at Birkbeck, University of London. I also hold degrees in both Social Work and Theology. I began my formal supervised psychotherapy work in 2012, through a placement in a Harley Street clinic.

About Psychotherapy

Working in a psychoanalytic manner means that we consider both the conscious processes which are evident, and the unconscious and hard-to-see ideas, assumptions, and behaviours that will be at work. The issues you bring are taken very seriously, and the scope is widened to consider more context and additional insight. The effect of the past on the present, and your internal world, are all brought more into view with the intention towards meaning, and to take up your life more fully. Both the BPF and BPC give a useful description of psychotherapy, including what to expect and the evidence base .
